FRAGnSTEIN FIRMWARE

You will need to install the newest driver to use this firmware utility.

This includes the special RF channels for very high RF environments.  For those that have serious RF problems it is recommended to select Group 5 and Starting Band 11 or 12.

USING THIS SOFTWARE

During Firmware upgrades your FRAGnStein mouse functions will be off.  You will need to use your laptop mouse, a second mouse or keyboard tabbing functions to maneuver within the Firmware Upgrade software.

1) Unplug your FRAGnStein USB dongle from the PC.

2) Start the Firmware upgrade software.

3) Press the dongle button while inserting it into the USB port. Continue to hold the dongle button for 1 second.  This puts your FRAGnStein into setup mode. You will notice that your FRAGnStein mouse functions are now off.

4) Press Install Firmware.

Note: If the Install button is disabled that means the driver is not installed completely or setup mode is not enabled. Please see the Driver Installation sections.

5) A dialog box will be displayed that shows your current hardware version, current firmware version and the new version that is to be installed.

6) Select Install and a progress bar will indicate the install progress.

A success box come up when the firmware install is complete. Your FRAGnStein will now have the selected firmware installed.

To use your FRAGnStein as a PC mouse remove the dongle and plug it back in without pressing the dongle button.

Radio Frequency interference is a common problem with wireless controllers. There are many sources of RF in households including cordless phones, cell phones, wireless speakers, the PS3, other controllers and routers to mention a few.  Each of these devices can cause interference to any game controller.  Interference can be detected when your controller cuts out and restarts or stutters.

ADVANCED RF FIRMWARE FEATURE

The advanced RF button is used only in high RF environments.  If your controller stutters or looses sync use this feature to select between 5 different RF ranges.

The Default selection will reset the factory RF settings. Use the default settings if your controller does not stutter.

After using the RF feature you will need to rematch your mouse, left grip and dongle.

We have updated the FRAGnStein firmware utility.  This firmware is both faster and smoother and the suggested firmware to use.

Standard Firmware Features Include:
While holding the mouse F button - press R1 (left mouse button) to turn rapid fire on or off.
While holding the mouse F button - press R3 (mouse wheel down) to turn on or off the mouse wheel features.

Whats New:
We have now added a dead zone adjustment to the firmware. When you install this firmware you will add the function on the mouse to adjust the dead zone and the mouse sensitivity.

We suggest that you first set your mouse to F0.  F0 is the finest movements.  To set your mouse to F0: Start your game and then pressing and hold the mouse F button.  While holding the mouse F button roll the mouse wheel forward and back until the game just stops to roll to the right.  That is F0 and F0 will be the most smooth for all games.

While holding the mouse F button you can now push the mouse wheel to the left to lower the dead zone and to the right to increase the dead zone.  There are 8 dead zone settings.

The higher the dead zone is set, the faster the mouse will go.  We suggest you first press the mouse wheel to the left 8 times to set the dead zone to 0.  Now adjust the video game's controller speed to a med to med high setting.  Now you will notice that adjusting the dead zone to the right will increase the mouse speed.

These are our suggested settings for all games:

Mouse F1: (mouse sensitivity) =  one mouse click forward from when the game starts to roll.
Dead Zone: (mouse speed) DZ2 = Mouse Side wheel buttons two presses to the right.
Video Game Speed:  Controller set to med to med high.

You will of course find the best settings according to your play style.
